Thoothukkudi

The district of Toothukudi is also known as the Tuticorin District. The district is located along the southern tip of the Indian Peninsula. The district of Tuticorin or Toothukudi has quite a large coastline that makes the coast a prime attraction for the tourists.  The district has its headquarters in the city of Tuticorin. The district and the regions surrounding the area were the main lands of the Pandyan Dynasty that ruled the area. The district is bordered by the districts of Tiruneveli, Ramanathapuram and Virudhnagar. The district is also bordered by the Bay of Bengal along the eastern side. The district of Tuticorin has a population of approximately around about 17.5 lacs individuals which is stored in a total area of approximately about 4745 sq km. The density of population for the district of Tuticorin is approximately around 369 people per sq km. The district also has a lot of archaeological structures that build in the interest of the historians and tourists.
