Krishnagiri

The district of Krishnagiri is one of the most important districts of the state of Tamil Nadu as well as India because the district of Krishnagiri was the place where the project of E – Governance was first initiated by the government of India. The district gets its name from the black granite hills that are abundant in the district. The district was at its height of glory when the district was under the rule of Krishnadeva Raya of Vijayanagara Kingdom. The district is bordered by the districts of Dharmapuri, Vellore and Thiruvannamalai. The district is also bordered by the district of state of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The district of Krishnagiri covers a land area of approximately around 5143 sq km with a population of about 18.8 lacs individuals. The population density of the district of Krishnagiri is approximately around 370 people per sq km. The district is famous for the mangoes that it produces.
