The district of Krishnagiri is one of the most important districts of the state of Tamil Nadu as well as India because the district of Krishnagiri was the place where the project of E – Governance was first initiated by the government of India. The district gets its name from the black granite hills that are abundant in the district. The district was at its height of glory when the district was under the rule of Krishnadeva Raya of Vijayanagara Kingdom.
