Jalna

The district of Jalna is also a very important administrative district of the state of Maharashtra. The district is a part of the Aurangabad division of the state. The main administrative centre for the district is located in the city of Jalna town. The district shares its boundaries with the districts of Aurangabad, Beed, Buldhana, Parbhani and Jalgaon. The district of Jalna is located in the central part of the state of Maharashtra. The district has two very low hill ranges running through it. They are: Satmala and Ajanta hills. The district is also blessed with the waters of River Godavari. The district of Jalna covers a land area of approximately 7718 sq km with a population that amounts up to 19.5 lacs individuals. The district has a population density of 255 people living in per unit sq km of the district. Initially the region was a part of the state of Andhra Pradesh, but was later added to the state of Maharashtra
