Dungarpur

The district of Dungarpur is located in the extreme southern part of the state of Rajasthan. The district is an extremely important administrative district of the state. The district also has a huge historical background that accounts for the pride of the people of the District. Initially the district was ruled by the local Rajputana tribes who were fierce warriors and men of honour. They were defeated by the Mughals and the control shifted from the Mughals to the British army. The district was also a very important British military base during the British rule in India.
The district of Dungarpur covers a land area of approximately around 42 thousand people according to the last census of the region in the year 2001. The district has many forts and palaces that form a great site of attraction for the tourists from all over the world. They are also great sites which show the great history that the state of Rajasthan has had over the past.
