Nayagarh

The district of Nayagarh is one of the most important districts of the state of Orissa. The district has the town of Nayagarh as the main administrative centre for the control of all the administrative works. The history of the region dates back to the past as deep as the thirteenth century when the foundation of the Kingdom at Nayagarh was being built. The political past of the district in the ancient times had always been among one of the most eventful. The region was said to have been inhabited by the fiercest of the Tigers. The district of Nayagarh covers a land area of approximately around 3890 sq km with a population of about 9.6 lacs individuals. The district has a population density of approximately 247 people per sq km. The majority of the land of the district is under dense forests with quite a few variety of wild animals that dwell in the forests.
