Kendujhar

The district of Kendujhar which is also known as the Keonjhar district is one of the important administrative districts of the state. The district has its main administrative centre for control of administration in the city of Kendujhar or Keonjhar as the locals term it more often. The district of Kendujhar or Keonjhar is bordered by the districts of Jajpur, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal and Sundargarh district. The district is also bordered by the state of Chhattisgarh. The district of Kendujhar has a lot of waterfalls and cliffs which makes the geography of the region completely different from the rest of Orissa. The district of Kendujhar covers a land area of approximately 8240 sq km with a population of around about 18 lacs individuals. The population density of the region is approximately about 217 people per sq km. The majority of the population of the district is made up of the tribal people who live in the district.
