Morena

The district of Morena is one of the districts that make up the state of Madhya Pradesh. The district has the name Morena because of the fact that there are many peacocks that are found in the region. The district of Morena is a part of the Chambal Division. The main centre for the administrative purposes is in the city of Morena itself. The district and its nearby regions were once ruled by the leaders of the Yadav community and the Rajputs. The district came into being from the princely state of Tonwarghar. The district became a part of the state of Madhya Pradesh in the year 1956. The district of Morena covers a land area of approximately 4987 sq km with a population of 19.6 lacs individuals. The district has a population density of 394 people per sq km approximately. The district also has many places which sacred attractions for the Hindus.
