The district of Davangeere is one of the extremely important administrative districts of the state of Karnataka. The district has its main centre for the administration of the whole district in the city of Davangere.  The district of Davangere is literally one of the rarest completely topographically flat districts of the region. The district lies in the plain section of the Deccan Plateau. The district of Davangere is bordered by the districts of Shivamogga, Haveri, Bellary, Chikamagalur and Chitradurga district. The district is literally located in the central part of the state of Karnataka.The district of Karnataka covers an overall land area of 5900 sq km approximately with a population of 1946905 individuals. The density of population of the region is around about 329 people per sq km. The district of Davangere has been listed in the 250 most backward districts of India and presently it receives funds to uplift its position.
