The district of Davangeere is one of the extremely important administrative districts of the state of Karnataka. The district has its main centre for the administration of the whole district in the city of Davangere.  The district of Davangere is literally one of the rarest completely topographically flat districts of the region. The district lies in the plain section of the Deccan Plateau. The district of Davangere is bordered by the districts of Shivamogga, Haveri, Bellary, Chikamagalur and Chitradurga district.
