Panipat

The district of Panipat is an extremely important district to for the state of Haryana. The district houses its main centre of administration in the historical city of Panipat itself. The district of Panipat was created when land was scrapped out of the Karnal districts in the year of 1989. The district was gain brought under the administration of the Karnal districts in the year of 1991 only to be separated again in the year of 1992. The district and the nearby areas is of great historical importance because many legendary battles were fought in these regions during the medieval period of the Indian History. The district of Panipat occupies an area of 1268 sq km with a population of about 12 lacs individuals approximately.
