The district of Mohali is also better known as the Sahibzada Ajit Singh district. The district of MOhali came into being in the year of 2006 becoming the one of the recently created districts of the state of Punjab. The district of Mohali has its main centre for the control of administration in the city of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar itself. The district is mostly comprised of Villages and a few towns that are the so called urban area of the district. The district of Sahibzada Ajit Singh is turning into one of the fastest developing industrial zones for the state of Punjab. The district of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar has a population density of approximately 830 people per sq km. The district has a high literacy rate of 85% approximately.
