Following are the airports that are present in Gujarat

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (AMD): This airport is the only international airport in Gujarat State. It is named after the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who was first Deputy Prime minister of India. Its location is nearly 8Km away from the major city known as Ahmedabad. As of now, this airport has four terminal for various operations like cargo, international traffic etc. Currently have two terminals for passengers, one for the Domestic and other one for the International. It can candle 1600 passengers (International) at a time. One cargo handling terminal is also there and it is used for cargo handling operations. It is well connected from various modes transportation.

Vadodara Airport (BDQ): This is the major domestic airport in Gujarat. Currently construction is in full swing and international terminals are being constructed here. Vadodara airport is known for its architecture as its represents the traditional setup of the Gujarat. Once international terminal is ready, it will be able to handle 200 passengers per hour. It is also with other name called as ‘Civil Airport Harni’. Recently night parking facilities for big planes like Boeing 747 were made and it has considerably reduced the load on Ahmedabad airport. Cargo handling terminal will shortly be constructed.

Kandla Airport (IXY): Currently this airport is empty and don’t have commercial operations. But since it covers the major port of ‘Kandla’ in future we will see lot of traffic coming from it.

Bhuj Airport (BHJ): This is a small airport that has limited operations. It is located in the Kutch region of Gujarat. It is also used as air force base and came to use a lot during the relief operations taking place during the earthquake in 2001. Currently flights are limited here but have regular operations.

Bhavnagar Airport (BHU): Another domestic airport that is present in Gujarat. Main purpose of this is to serve the port industry that is sprawling around here. Currently it can handle around 100 passengers in one hour. And have the facility to park two Boeing 737 planes. Jet Airways has continues flights from here to Mumbai. It spreads in 294 acres of land.

Jamnagar Airport (JGA): This airport is currently used by Air Force for their operations, but small part of it is also permitted for Indian Airlines and Jet Konnect operations. The passenger handling capacity is small since there are very less number of passengers that are coming here. It spreads in 35 acres of Land.

Porbandar Airport (PBD): This airport serves for both civil aviation and Naval Base of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. Coast guard has special setup for their operations here. Currently it has operations form Mumbai and Diu. 100 passengers can be handled by this airstrip. Only Jet Airways has operations.

Rajkot Airport (RAJ): This serves the city of Rajkot and has been under the process of expanding it. Currently it has operations of Jet lit and Air India from Mumbai.

Surat Airport (STV) :  This airport is among the major for the domestic operations in Gujarat. Over the times major reformations have been carried out and now it has flights from Mumbai, Delhi and other major cities. 240 is the number of passengers it can handle in one hour.
