The district of Auraiya is located in the south – western part of the northern state of Uttar Pradesh.  The district is an important part of the Kanpur division of the state of Uttar Pradesh. The district is one of the many districts that make up the state of Uttar Pradesh. The district of Auraiya is bordered by the districts of Kanauj, Etawah, Jalaun and Rambai Nagar. The district of Auraiya came into being in the year 1997 with the land separated from the district of Etawah. The district and the nearby lands have seen many rulers as their overlords and have a huge history of wars. The district of Auraiya covers a land area of approximately about 2015 sq km with a population of about 13.7 lacs individuals living in the district borders. The population density of the districts of Auraiya is approximately about 681 people living per sq km. The district is one of the backward industrial sectors of the state of Uttar Pradesh.
