Christmas Day - Merry XMAS Date

As per the legends, Jesus was born between 7 B.C - 2 B.C, but nobody has the correct date with them. There are two types of dates at when Christmas is celebrated and they vary because of two different calendars. December 25 is the date of celebration as per the Julian calendar. So countries like Orthodox Church in America and Eastern Orthodox Churches, who follow the Julian calendar, celebrates this festival on 25th December every year.

On the contrary there are some churches like those in Ethiopia and other countries follow the Georgian calendar, thus they celebrate it on 7th January. Modern Christmas celebrations have several additions to it like Santa Clause, Gift giving, carols etc and have been added in the course of time. Due to several additions like gifts etc, a major surge in the sales is seen during this time.

But Christmas is not only the unique name that it being called with, there are other names too like Nativity and Xmas. As per legends, Christmas is made of two words ‘Christ and Mass’. Mother Merry gave birth to Jesus and he was in city called as Bethlehem. Over the years there are debates over his birth by Merry, but this is most accepted fact. Also, in the whole world, 25th December is most chosen date for celebrating this eve.

As decorations are part of each holiday, so does here also. There are three specific colors that are considered to describe this eve very good. Red, Green and Gold are the major colors and each has its importance. We tell you, Red stands and symbolizes the blood came out from Christ body, during crucifixion, Green stands for eternal lie and prosperity, Gold is sort of attached to gifts that were given be the Magi, during Jesus birth.

Churches see a great attendance of people during the times round the Christmas and huge prayers are carried out. In some churches, keeping fast for 40 days etc have also been seen. Music and carols contributes to major part of celebrations and over the years, so many famous musicians have come forward and have composed some of the great song for this occasional and some of the songs have got a cult status like Jingle Bell.

This year Christmas will be celebrated on 25th December, on Wednesday. Cuisines are major part of it and the most important part of it. Cakes, Wines, Fish, Turnkey, Pork, and Desserts etc are quite the major part of these celebrations. Christmas pudding and Fruit cakes are some of the common desserts that are prepared at home. Exchange of cards is also new things that originated in the 19th century and are readily available in shops. But some decides to make it at home because they can give more personal touch to them. Santa Clause is also a famous figure during these even and has been associated with giving gifts to children or making their wishes fulfill. But it was not part of the religion; it just came along the way as other things added in to the celebrations.
