On the eve of Christmas the celebration are huge and grand. This can be attributed to the fact that, this is a major festival in the whole year and thus celebrations are huge. And it includes varied cuisines, gifts, Christmas tree, and lots of fun. On this day, God Jesus came to the world and mother merry gave birth to him at Bethlehem. God Jesus came to earth as messenger of god and to spread the words of gods among the human being. On this Christmas day, in the morning people go to churches to attend the mass prayers and after doing prayers, cake are distributed as part of festival festivity.
First of all celebrations starts from buying items that are needed for this eve. Generally people buy gifts and food times, as cuisines are major part of it. Roughly we can say that, people starts planning for this in advance, from the times when thanksgiving comes. Christmas trees are of great importance and shops are full of these flamboyant pieces. Some of them are natural, not readily available and has to be pre booked. On the other hand artificial are also there and they can purchased from any shop. A tree of height 2m-3m is considered good.
Items that are needed for Christmas tree decoration like bells, shocks, start etc can also be put all over the tree. It needs time, so it is carried out one day before the main eve. Over the years, due to commercialization, things have changed and now you can get a well decorated tree readymade from the market.
Now comes the food part. Different places have varied cuisines to be made on this eve. Like Turkey and Pork are quite the famous foods and is part of this major merriment. And due to this turkey and pork are in great demand. Desserts hold a very different place in the hearts of people and there is numerous variation of it. It is an art to make delicious desserts and is main part of the huge feast. Cocktails, Mocktails and other drinks like wine also contribute to major part on this eve.
In social places, several play, competitions etc are organized and Santa gives gifts to children there. People also much of interested in celebrating this eve together in group rather than in single families. And then they have all sorts of games, plays, and other sorts of exciting activities. Musical chairs, cards, songs etc can be easily seen activities in this period of year. Since Christian religion is all over the world, you can say, the whole world is submerged under the joy and happiness.
Feasts are there in the morning and evening, and last till late night. At 12 Clock people wish each other merry Christmas. In places where snow falls, people make huge structures from song and celebrate this eve around it.
