This airport is among the fastest growing airport in the country and saw a jump of 64% increase in the passengers count in the year 2009. Named after the fourth Guru ‘Guru Ram das Ji’, who was also founder of the Amritsar city, has two terminals for entry and departure. This airport handles both international and national flights. And the coming years, more flights will be added. In a week this airport handles more than 100 flights that have international routes. Terminal 1 handles the domestic flights and Terminal 2 handles the International flights. It has inbuilt latest CAT II system and it is working exceptionally good. Also cargo terminal is separate for this airport.
