Basically in terms of fauna, the long and dense forests are famous for the tigers. Gwalior

A beautiful city that hold importance in two terms, i.e. historic importance and also in terms of art and architecture. During the revolt 1847, Gwalior was major point attraction as the fight between the British soldiers and Indian soldiers for independence took place. But now this city has promising views of history and present also. For example the famous Gwalior fort is among the top places that are visited by the tourists and it spreads in 3 Km area. Man Singh Palace, Rock Sculptures, Teli ka Mandir, Sasbahu Temples, State Archaeological Museum, Jai Vilas Palace & Scindia Museum and Tomb of Tansen are some the top places that tourist visits in Gwalior.

Orchha

This small town is famous for its fine architecture and a river named as Betwa. Orchha was the capital of the Bundela rajas from the 16th century to 1783. So, there are various historical monuments that can be spotted in this region. Jehangir Mahal, Raj Mahal, Ram Raja Temple, Chaturbhuj Temple, Chhatris etc are some of the star attractions of Orchha. And yes those who are water sports enthusiasts, arrangements of water rafting are also there.

Khajuraho

It comes under the world heritage site and the reason for this is that, the fine carvings that are done on the various temples that are build here is impeccable. Also the uniqueness of the carvings had done on these temples also the reason why people come dragged to this place. The famous erotic design made on the walls is the most admired part and internationally acclaimed parts of these structures. The temples that are made on the western sides are very famous for their art and architecture. Their options for the massage also and those who are fond of swimming can also have a fun here. Just near to it is the famous Panna national park.

Bhopal

Capital of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal enjoys all type facilities. There are two major lakes in Bhopal and one of them is manmade. Bhopal is famous for its Islamic culture because it was ruled by Muslim rulers for quite long time. Largest mosque of India is also built here and its name is Taj-ul-Masjid. There are couples of other mosques also and the local bazaars are also quit good for shopping.

Sanchi

Sanchi is famous for its Stupa and it is around 46 Km from the Bhopal city. The famous Sanchi stupa was built by the great ruler ‘Ashoka’, but slowly this lost its charm. But again in 19th century it was discovered and now it is among the favorite destinations in Madhya Pradesh. A nice collection of structures and temples that depicts the Buddhist culture can be seen here.

Pachmarhi

This is the only hill station in Madhya Pradesh and around it you can see, large numbers of waterfalls, dense forest. Form here the nice views of Satpura tiger reserve. There are couple of cave temples can also be seen. It is a nice place to beat out your stress and spend some time in this peaceful environment. Satpura National Park, Bison Lodge, Caves and Pools & Waterfalls are some of the star attraction of Pachmarhi.

Ujjain

This small city is always in the news because of its religious importance. If you explore the history of Ujjain, then you will find that many rules ruled this city and this sit eh reason why there is a medley of cultures here. It is only famous for its temples and it is among the seven sacred cities that are part of Hindu culture. Mahakaleshwar Mandir, Gopal Mandir, Harsiddhi Mandir, Chintaman Ganesh Mandir and Ram Ghat are some of the key religious sites in Ujjain.

Indore

This city is famous for its business related activities and yes the coffee which is unique to this place only. Lal Bagh Palace and Central Museum are some of the star attractions of Indore.

Omkareshwar

This is also called as the ‘Mini Varanasi’ and has rich religious importance. The unique of this place is the ‘OM’ shaped island and it attracts crowd in large numbers from all across the regions. Shri Omkar Mandhata is a very famous temple and dedicated to the lord Shiva.

Maheshwar

Maheshwar has a spiritual importance and its name can be seen Mahabharata and Ramayana. There are various bathing Ghats around the only river that flow here called as the ‘Narmada’. Baneshwar Temple is the most famous and visited temple in Maheshwar.

Mandu

This is the most famous place to see the afghan architecture in India. This place is littered with palaces, tombs, monuments and mosques and they have fine afghan architecture to see through. Royal Enclave, Jahaz Mahal, Taveli Mahal, Hindola Mahal, House & Shop of Gada Shah, Mosque of Dilawar Khan, Champa Baodi and Turkish bath are the star attraction of Mandu.

Kanha National Park

If you want to indulge yourself completely in to the nature lap, then nothing can beat this place. Famous for its tigers and Barasingha, it’s quite and sober place to visit in. Although spotting a tiger is little luck work, but if you have taken ride under the guidance of forest officials, then surely you will be able to spot one. There are couples of jeep trips arranged by the various tourist lounges that are thriving around this park. Accommodation in this national park can be booked on the prior notice basis also and be done especially in the peak seasons like May and June. In terms of wild animals, this national park has elephants, various species of reptiles, monkeys, different species of birds etc.

Bandhavgarh National Park

If you want to indulge yourself completely in to the nature lap, then nothing can beat this place. Famous for its tigers it’s quite and sober place to visit in. And best part of this national park is that it has higher probability of spotting a tiger than any other national park in India. It is not very far from the Kanha national park and accommodation in this national park can be booked on the prior notice basis also and be done especially in the peak seasons like May and June. 

Tips for Journey

There is no doubt that Madhya Pradesh is the best place to have your holidays spent and this can be attributed to the fact that this state is rich in culture, biodiversity resources. With summer temperatures near this land shoots up to a great extent, so all the necessary steps that you think will be useful to beat the heat are always welcomed. Now talking about going to tribal areas, there are some places that are not connected or we can say not well connected by the public transport. In term of transportation, Madhya Pradesh has a decent system and offers a wider coverage of roads and communication. But since most of the state is covered with forest, it is better to have your own mode of transportation.
