XAT or Xavier Aptitude Test is one of the most aspired examinations for the Indian students aspiring for MBA programs. The all-India exam is carried by Xavier Association of Management Institutes and the examination is meant to select suitable candidates for MBA courses in the B-schools all across the country. Added to Indian students, the XAT exam is also applicable for the NRI students & foreign candidates. The XAT 2022 has been scheduled for early quarter of 2022.
XAT eligibility criteria
The XAT 2022 eligibility criteria is minimum 50 percent of aggregate marks in a recognized Bachelor’s degree or equal CGPA in any stream. The students who are appearing in the last year of the Bachelor’s program and would have their final exam by 10th June, 2022, can also appear for the XAT exam. The NRI candidates have this option to apply through their GMAT scores- however this option is not viable for students residing in Kathmandu & Dubai.
XAT exam pattern & syllabus
The XAT 2022 exam patterns will follow a paper & pencil-based test that will have both objective & subjective questions. The exam duration is 3.5 hours and would constitute 2 papers. Paper 1 will have objective questions while Paper 2 will focus on the subjective part as well with questions on General Knowledge & Essay Writing. 1/4th marks would be deducted on each wrong answer. There will be 84 questions in the first paper and 30 questions in the second paper. The students will have 3 hours to complete the first paper and 40 minutes or Paper 2.
The XAT 2022 syllabus for Paper 1 is Verbal Ability, Decision Making & Analytical Reasoning and Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation. The Paper 2 will comprise of questions from General Knowledge and the students would also be asked to write an essay.
XAT exam centers
The XAT 2022 exam centers will cover all the major cities across India such as Allahabad, Kanpur, Lucknow, Kolkata, Jamshedpur, Amritsar, Vadodara, Vishakhapatnam, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai etc. All together, 47 Indian cities would be conducting the XAT exam. Apart from these, XAT exam would be conducted in Kathmandu & Dubai as well.
XAT application form
The XAT 2022 will follow an online admission process. The XAT application form can be downloaded from the official site of XAT- www.xatonline.net.in. You will have this facility to note your desired examination center during application. The application fee is Rs. 1000 for all the students. There are several modes of payment for the XAT application form- online payment through Debit card or Credit card, IDBI net banking, DD and payment by cash. You will have to scan your photo and signature for the online XAT application form. The application process has already started from September 4, 2021 and the last date of application is 30th November 2021.
XAT admit card
The XAT 2022 admit card would be available on XAT website on 20th December 2021. The students can download the admit card from www.xatonline.net.in till the final week of the month.

The XAT exam will be held on January 2.

- 2nd week of January 2022- Launch of XAT official answer key.
