XAT is one of the most sought after exams for Indian students aspiring for MBA programs in Indian B-schools. The exam is conducted every year by XLRI, Jamshedpur. The eligibility criteria for the exam is minimum 505 marks in the Bachelor’s degree from any recognized institution in the country, in any discipline. The students who qualify XAT 2022 would be able to apply for 4 MBA programs- Human Resource Management, Business Management, Global Resource Management and General Management Programme. The XAT exam is on January 2, 2022 and here is a short note on XAT exam patterns.
XAT 2022 exam pattern
First of all, you should know that XAT exam patterns will follow a paper & pen based aptitude test. This will be especially helpful for students who are not so acquainted with computers. The main idea of the test is to make it accessible for students from all backgrounds.
The exam patterns 2022 XAT include a blend of subjective & objective questions that are divided into 2 papers.
Exam topics for Paper 1
The exam patterns XAT 2022 for Paper 1 will comprise of questions on Verbal Ability, Decision Making & Analytical Reasoning and Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation.
Exam topics for Paper 2
The second paper will comprise of questions from General Knowledge and the students would also be asked to write an essay.
Number of questions
The candidates would have to answer -
Verbal ability- 28 questions
Decision Making & Analytical Reasoning- 23 questions
Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation- 33 questions
General Knowledge & Essay- 30 questions.
Negative marking
1/4th marks would be deducted on each wrong answer.

XAT 2022 exam duration
XAT exam duration is 3.5 hours. Paper 1 will get 3 hours while Paper 2 will get 40 minutes.
