UPCPMT or Uttar Pradesh Combined Pre-Medical Test is the entry level examination for the medical undergraduate courses in different medical colleges (Government-Aided/Government or Private) across the state of Uttar Pradesh. The Kanpur based Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University conducts the examination every year under UP government. The UPCPMT is conducted every year in mid June and this year the UPCPMT 2020 is scheduled for June 22. Given the limited number of seats, the competition is really sky-high here. The different medical courses offered under UPCPMT 2020 are-
- Bachelor of Surgery & Bachelor of Medicine (MBBS)
- Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
- Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine & Surgery (BHMS)
- Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (BAMS)
- Bachelor of Unani Medicine & Surgery (BUMS)
Eligibility Criteria for UPCPMT 2020
The applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria for UPCPMT 2020 -
- The applicant must be an UP resident & Indian citizen. The aspiring candidate, if a non-resident of the state, must pass his/her Intermediate or Class XII board from any of the schools located in Uttar Pradesh.
- In regards to age limit, the aspiring candidate should be born before or on December 31, 1997. The minimum age of applicant is 17 years and the maximum is 25 years.
- The applicant must pass the Class XII exam from UP board & or any other University/Board with biology, chemistry & physics as the core subjects.
- Candidates with B.Sc. degree with Chemistry, Physics, Biology & English from some recognized University, can also apply.
- The cutoff marks is 50 percent for general candidates while it is 10 percent for OBC/SC/ST candidates.
- The students who haven’t passed 12th exam from Uttar Pradesh but has got parents as permanent residences of the state can apply as well.
- The BAMS candidates who’ve passed pass Madhyama Exam of Varanasi based Sampurnanand Sanskrit University would be eligible as well.
- The BUMS candidates, who’ve passed the High School exam with Urdu, are eligible too.
Applying for UPCPMT 2020
The UPCPMT 2020 application is eligible in the online mode only from this year. Those willing to take the online route would have to hit the official website of UPCPMT to fill up the application form online. The online forms would be available from April 18. 2020 and the last date of online Application is May 20, 2020. The applicant would have to download the payment challan and deposit the required fee at any Allahabad Bank or Axis Bank branch in Uttar Pradesh before filling the form online. Internet payment facility is eligible as well, through Credit or Debit card.
UPCPMT 2020 fees
The UPCPMT 2020 fee for OBC & general candidates is 1250 INR while it is 650 INR for the SC/ST applicants. A counseling fee worth 50 INR has to be paid by all candidates.
UPCPMT 2020 examination
The UPCPMT 2020 examination will comprise of two segments, each containing 100 marks of MCQ questionnaire each. First Paper deals with Zoology & Botany while the 2nd paper is all about Physics & Chemistry. The exam will last for 3 hours. The students can answer the questions either in Hindi or English. The examination would be based on the syllabus of Class XII.
UPCPMT 2020 Admit card
The UPCPMT 2020 admit card would be available from June 5, 2020 . The candidates would have to download the admit card from the official UPCPMT website.
