From 2013 onward, a common entrance exam known as JEE was conducted by the CBSE for the admission to different colleges of India. Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an all India common entrance examination which is conducted by the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education for admission in various undergraduate engineering courses. In 2012, CBSE has merged AIEEE and IIT-JEE and announced this common examination. JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) is being conducted into two parts, JEE-MAIN and JEE-ADVANCED. JEE-Advanced is conducted for admission in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs),and the Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad. JEE-Main is conducted for the admission in National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Centrallly Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), State Funded Technical Institutions (SFTI) and some Universities.(ISM). JEE MAIN is the first part of the exam (JEE)which is conducted for the admission in 30 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), 12 Indian Institutes of Information Technology, 16 Central Government/State Government Funded Institutions, and various Self Financed Deemed Universities/Universities/Other Institutions. JEE MAIN All India Rank (AIR) is also accepted by the technical education departments of 9 states (Haryana, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Nagaland, Maharashtra, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh).
