Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar situated in Punjab (also popularly known as IIT Ropar) was set up by the Government of India in 2008. The institute has been approved & recognized by the University Grant Commission and AICTE. It provides courses at UG and PG levels in the field of Engineering, Science, and Humanities.

Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates seeking admission in B.Tech must have completed Higher Secondary with a minimum of 75% from a recognized board
- Admission to B.Tech is granted on the basis of JEE Advanced marks
- Admission to M.Sc is based on the IIT-JAM score
- Admission to M.Tech is provided on the basis of GATE score
- Admission in Ph.D. is decided by the UGC NET/CSIR NET score followed by the interview
Scholarship
The institute provides scholarships through various scholarship programs like Merit-cum-Means for B.Tech and M.Tech students. Students who ranked well in GATE are qualified for the scholarship of 24000 rs. JRF, SR Scholarship programs for Ph.D. students.
