The Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LUVAS) is one of the most prestigious universities in Haryana that was formed by the merger of two colleges i.e, college of veterinary sciences and college of animal sciences, on 7th April 2010. The university is well known for its advancement and excellence in research and services through the hard work of its faculty members and students in the state. Its name was taken from Lala Lajpat Rai, the great freedom fighter who is also well known as “Punjab Kesari”. The institution provides a wide range of courses at UG, PG, and Doctoral levels through the department of Veterinary Anatomy, Veterinary Gynecology & Obstetrics, Veterinary Pathology, Animal Biotechnology, Veterinary parasitology, and Physiology & Biochemistry.

- Full-Time B.Tech program for 4 years in Dairy Technology
- Full-Time Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry in Animal Biotechnology, Animal Genetics & Breeding, Animal Nutrition, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Livestock Products Technology, Veterinary Public Health & Epidemiology, Veterinary Anatomy, Livestock Production Management, Animal Nutrition
- Full-time Master of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry
- Ph.D. for 5 years in Veterinary Science
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates looking for admission to the UG, PG, and Ph.D. programs must have completed higher secondary, graduation, and post-graduation in relevant subjects from a UGC recognized university.
- Admission in UG and PG programs are done on the basis of qualified marks in the entrance exam conducted by the LUVAS
Placement
The placement and counseling department was started in order to provide proper guidance to improve the overall personality of students that qualify them to tackle multiple tasks of animal well-being. Many students have placed in sectors like the Dairy industry, Pharmaceutical industry, Insurance, and Banking sector in the state.
