Chaudhary Charan Singh University is one of the private and autonomous universities of the state of Uttar Pradesh. The University is one of the oldest universities of free India aimed at catering the needs of the Western Region of the state of Uttar Pradesh. The Chaudhary Charan Singh University was formerly known as the Meerut University and is located in the city of Meerut itself. The University plays a very important role in addressing the needs of higher education of the students of the region. The University was founded in the year 1965 and since then it has turned out to be one of the premier Universities of Northern India.

The Chaudhary Charan Singh University covers a land area of approximately 222 acres giving it quite some amount of area to develop the educational units. The University started off with a few options for higher education but now it allows students to enroll in various streams like arts, sciences, commerce, engineering, etc. The University also provides a few post graduate courses in certain subjects. The University forms a strong line of the passed out students with former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh to first director general of Indian Intelligence agency.
