Aligarh Muslim University


Aligarh Muslim University is one of the oldest central universities of India. The University was established in the year 1875 under the name of Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College. The name was changed to Aligarh Muslim University in the year 1920. The main campus of the University is in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. Over a period of time and service, AMU has secured a position of national importance according to the 7th schedule of the Article 246 of the Indian Constitution.

The Aligarh Muslim University has a variety of courses on offer for the students, who come from all over India as well as from Africa, Western Asia, etc.. The University offers various engineering courses, general stream education, medicals, English and arts, etc.. It is currently ranked as the 3rd best university in India.

Aligarh Muslim University is well known for the kind of education that it imparts to its students. The university also boasts of a good placemnt track record as most of the students are an important part of India’s economy now.  Along with the 3rd rank, AMU also has one of the largest campuses in India spread distinctly over the city of Aligarh. Various eminent personalities are a part of the AMU alumni.
