Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth was set up by the Maharashtra Government on 18th May 1972 at Dapoli in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. The UGC recognized university is accredited by the National Agricultural Education Accreditation Board and was started with the aim to provide education, conduct research in the Konkan region in order to improve agriculture production. The older name of the university was Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth and then it was changed to Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth in the month of February 2001. The university provides various UG, PG, and Doctoral level courses in the field of agricultural education. The nearest bus stop is the Dapoli Bus Stand which is only 2 km away from the university.

Eligibility Criteria
- Admission to the B.Sc is granted on the basis of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test conducted by the Government of Maharashtra (MHT-CET)
- Admission to the B.Tech is decided by the valid score in the MHT-CET/JEE Main and candidates must have passed higher secondary with PCM/PCB from a recognized board
- Admission in PG and Ph.D. courses is decided by the marks obtained in the entrance exam conducted by the Maharashtra Agricultural Universities Examination Board (MAUEB)
