Andhra University is one of the best universities in India. The University is not only counted among the very best, it is also rated as one of the most advanced universities in Southern India. The Andhra University came up in the year 1926 after a long and bitter struggle between the Telegu elite and the backward northern districts of the state, Andhra Pradesh. The University started off with imparting education in subjects like Literature, History, Politics, Economics and Vernacular language of Telegu. To add to the credits, the Former President of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan succeeded Dr. C.R. Reddy as the Vice –Chancellor of the university in 1931.
Andhra University Courses
The main course of Andhra University is M.Sc, B.E/B.Tech. The other UG, PG courses are provided in various specializations namely Arts, Science & Technology, Commerce, Engineering, Management, Pharmacy and Law.
The university contains various branches like the College of Arts & Commerce, the College of Science & Technology, the College of Engineering, and the College of Law.
In 1978, the university also started a distance education through Andhra University School of Distance Education which provides UG, PG, PG Diploma, Certification courses, and professional courses.
Eligibility Criteria
The admission to the UG, PG courses is decided by a valid score in the AUCET/AUEET/GATE entrance exams. The last decision to set the cut off marks for admission is taken by the university administration.

The training and placement department in the university enhances student’s various skills and personalities for campus placement. The highest salary package offered is 16 lakh per annum and the average salary package is 5 lakh per annum. The top recruiters include Dr. Reddy, GVK, Hospira INK, Mylan Labs, TCS and Infosys.

- The hostel facility is provided by the university for both boys and girls. For boys, hostel seats are 3200 and 2000 seats are provided for girls.
