Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University is a state-owned university for medical education in Dehradun and it was started by the State Government of Uttarakhand under Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Medical Education University Act, 2014 in Dehradun. HNB Medical Education University is approved and recognized by the University Grant Commission. 3 Medical colleges, 19 Nursing colleges, and 10 Paramedical colleges are affiliated with the university. It provides a wide range of degree courses in the field of Medical, Dental, Paramedical, Nursing. The university has highly skilled, well qualified, and experienced faculty members.

• The courses in the UG program are MBBS, B.Sc, BDS, Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B.P.T.), Bachelor of Medical Lab Technology (B.M.L.T.)
• The PG programs include MD (Ophthalmology, Anatomy, Community Medicine, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, Physiology, Radio-Diagnosis, Pathology, Biochemistry, Microbiology)
• Master of Surgery (M.S.), Master of Dental Surgery (M.D.S.), Master of Science in Nursing, Master of Physiotherapy (M.P.T.), PG Diploma in Clinic Pathology and Diagnosis Technology, PG Diploma in Clinic Diagnostics

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates looking for admission to UG programs must have completed higher secondary with Physics, Chemistry, Biology subjects.
• Candidates seeking admission in the PG courses must have completed their graduation in the relevant field
• Admission in MBBS and BDS is granted on the basis of NEET/UPMT (Uttarakhand Pre Medical Test)
• Admission in all other UG courses are based on the valid marks obtained in the entrance test conducted by the university
• Admission in MD and MS is decided by the valid score in the NEET PG
• Admission to the PG Diploma courses are merit-based
