Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University is a state-owned university situated in Faizabad Uttar Pradesh. It was also known as Avadh University but later its name was changed to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University in 1993-94. Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia was appointed the first Vice-Chancellor of the university. The state government university is recognized by the AICTE and University Grant Commission. It provides opportunities for higher education in the field of Science, Arts, Economics, Management, etc. The university has more than 600 affiliated colleges, 9 residential departments for postgraduate courses. The affiliated colleges of the university cover districts of Ayodhya, Lucknow, Ambedkar nagar, Sultanpur, Barabanki, Gonda, and Bahraich.

The courses are given below:

• B.Sc in Physics, Mathematics, Electronics, Computer Science, and Microbiology specializations
• B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering branches
• M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication specializations
• The other courses include BBA, B.Com, M.Sc, MA, MSW, and Ph.D

Eligibility Criteria

• Admission in B.Tech is granted on the basis of marks obtained in the JEE Mains/UPSEE
• Admission in all other UG courses is based on merit in the last qualifying examination
• Admission in M.Tech is decided on the basis of GATE score
• Admission in M.Sc is decided by CET score
• Admission in Ph.D. & M.Phil is based on the valid score in the UGC NET followed by the personal interview

Scholarship

• The university provides scholarships to the students belonging to the ST/SC/OBC/Minority section on the basis of merit in the higher secondary
• The university also helps students belonging to the economically weaker backgrounds, physically disabled, and sports quota.
