Patan

The district of Patan is located in the northern region of the state of Gujarat. The district of Patan is bordered by the districts of Banaskantha, Mehsana, Surendarnagar, and Kutch on all its side. The district gets its name from the city of Pantan which is also the main administrative city of the district of Patan. The district came into being in the year 2000 when it was carved out from the districts of Banaskantha and Mehsana. The district is highly populated by the tribal people. There are many Hindu and Jain Temples in the region. To be precise the district has a total of 150+ Jain temples. The district covers a land area of 5740 sq km which has a population density of 234 individuals. The districts total population is approximately 13 lacs. The district has an upcoming solar project which is expected to work in favour of the economy of the region.
