“Chaalaang” is a Hindi upcoming social satire which will be finally released in June 2020 after two shelved dates in January and March. Directed by National award winning director Hansal Mehta, the film is the first comedy from him and the director is extremely excited about his upcoming release. In one of his recent tweets, he had mentioned that directing his first comedy made him feel like debuting as a director again. “Chaalaang” stars Mehta’s favorite Rajkumar Rao as well as Nushrat Bharucha in lead roles. Saurabh Shukla also dons an important role here while Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub makes a special appearance in the film. “Chhalang will be released on June 12, 2020.

The film is set in Uttar Pradesh, and like Mehta’s maximum films, the upcoming movie is also set to question some of the most impractical and insensible practices of the society. Although Mehta and his team have not revealed much about the storyline- yet, from the poster, it can be gauged that the movie is probably about kabaddi match with underdogs. Rajkumar Rao plays the role of Montu while Nushrat Bharucha is paired opposite to him as Neelu. Shulka is essaying the part of “Masterji”. The movie marks the 5th collaboration between Mehta and Rao and both are immensely elated to come together once again. Rao has had known Bharucha from his early days in Bollywood so the shooting was fun for both the actors.

“Chaalaang” has been produced by some of the most heavyweight names of Bollywood, including Luv Ranjan, Ajay Devgan, Bhushan Kumar and Ankur Garg. The screenplay is written by Luv Ranjan, Zeishan Quadri and Aseem Arora. Music of the film is composed by Guru Randhawa, Tanishq Bagchi and Vee. Eeshit Narain is the cinematographer of the movie while Akiv Ali is the editor for the film. The movie is distributed by Yash Raj Films.
