Airports in Uttarakhand, India

Following are the airports in Uttarakhand State:

Jolly grant Airport( DED): It is also called as Dehradun airport serves Dehradun, Rishikesh and Hardwar area. During the floods of 2013, it came of great use during the relief operations. In the year 2008, a major renovation work involving extension of the runway took place. This was done to accommodate larger aircrafts. Current length of the runway is around 2140 meters and is located at a height of around 558 meters above the sea level. Some of the national carriers like Spice jet and Indian Airlines have regular operations till here from other major cities. Airport is fully equipped to cater needs of the passengers like baggage handling, parking facilities, food courts etc.

Pantnagar Airport (PGH): This is another major airport in Uttarakhand state that serves various other places like Ranikhet, Nanital etc. In 2008, it was expanded to elongate its runway, which now has a length of 1372 meters. As per the geographical records, it is located at a height of 233m above the sea level. Jagson airlines are currently having operations here. Currently Airport Authority of India controls and manages this airport. Natural beauty all around it is something that soothes the environment.
