Aligarh Muslim University is one of the oldest central universities of India. The University was established in the year 1875 under the name of Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College. The name was changed to Aligarh Muslim University in the year 1920. This is the first Muslim University in India which was established in 1920. The main campus of the University is in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. The rank of Aligarh Muslim University is #31 in India and #801-1000 globally. It has also got the honor of Institute of National Importance by the Indian Constitution. Over a period of time and service, AMU has secured a position of national importance according to the 7th schedule of the Article 246 of the Indian Constitution.

Eligibility Criteria
The entry to the BTech/BE is decided by a valid score in the entrance exam(AMUEEE) conducted by the university.
The entry to the MTech is decided by a valid score in GATE.
The admission to the MBBS/BDS is decided by a valid NEET score.
There is an interview process included along with the entrance exam for admission to the PhD program.
Admission for other courses is decided on the basis of the merit list.
