The district of Prataphgarh is the latest addition to the array of beautiful districts of Rajasthan. The district of Pratapgarh was created in the year 2008 with the land taken away from the districts of Chittorgarh, Udaipur and Banswara. The district of Pratapgarh has the main administrative centre in the city of Pratapgarh itself. The district of Prataphgarh is the home of the royal family of the clan of Sisodia who ruled the land of Prataphgarh. The legendary Rajput kings of Maharana Sangram Singh (Rana Sanga), Maharana Kumbha and Maharana Pratap Singh are all the great legacy holders of this legendary clan. The district of Pratapgarh has a land area that approximately covers around 411736 hectares with a population of about 8.6 lacs individuals. The district is ranked second according to having the least population. The district has a population density of approximately 211 people per sq km.
