Jalandhar Shakti Peeth

Jalandhar Shakti Peeth is among the 51 Shakti Peeth of Maa Sati. It is said that, the Left breast of maa Sati fell here, when lord Vishnu in order to relieve lord Shiva from grief of losing his wife Sati, used his ‘Sudarshan Chakra’ to incise maa Sati Body. Then, at the place of fall of left breast, this temple was constructed. Jalandhar Shakti Peeth is situated in Jalandhar, Punjab, India. Here the idol of maa Sati is called as ‘Tripurmalini’ and the lord Shiva is worshipped as ‘Bheeshan’. There is a temple which is dedicated Maa Sati and it is called as Laliteshwar Mahadev temple.

Jalandhar is itself a beautiful city and mainly famous for the textile products. The temple of Maa Sati is constructed beautifully and have a pond of fresh water built in front of it. The art and architecture of the temple is similar to the other Indian temple and have pointed type dome. The color of dome is golden and it covers major portion of the temple. There is a huge courtyard in front of the temple and it has flooring of both black and white marble.
