Karavipur Shakti Peeth

Karavipur Peeth is among the 51 Shakti Peeth of Maa Sati. It is said that, the third eye of Sati fell here, and then a temple dedicated to it was built at this place. Kamakhya Devi temple is located on the Parkai railway station, near Karachi, Pakistan. Facing the Arabian Sea, this temples come under the most ancient temples in world. After Partition, although the number of people visiting this temple has drastically decreased, but its importance still remains the same. While people following the Hindu Religion call it as the ‘Karavipur’ Devi, while the Muslim followers call it as ‘Nani’. People come to this place to offer their prayers and also it is a major station for curing poison related ailments like Snake bites etc. Here the idol of Maa Sati is called as Mahishasura Mardini and the lord Shiva is worshipped as ‘Ragi’.
